Educational Foundation
We're ready to implement some creative ways to enfold our local student chapters and build bridges between students and the business community – through our corporate outing program, student luncheons and our AMASV Educational Foundation. To volunteer to host an event or be a sponsor for a student to a luncheon following an event please contact our VP of Collegiate Relations.
AMASV Scholarship Program for Area College Students
In 2004, the American Marketing Association, Sacramento Valley established a scholarship program to benefit marketing and communication students in Sacramento area colleges.
Fitting perfectly in line with the AMASV’s core mission of advancing the science and ethical practices of the marketing profession, this Educational Foundation has been charged with encouraging, rewarding and providing enhanced educational opportunities to future marketers through these competitive scholarships.
The AMASV Educational Foundation has established a permanent endowed fund that will provide continuing educational opportunities for students. The foundation is working toward an endowed scholarship fund of $100,000 created from annual contributions by the AMASV board and from matching contributions from three tiers of charter underwriters. Additional annual funding is expected from individual contributions in several categories.
Applicants must be members of their college’s chapter of the American Marketing Association, enrolled in marketing or communication studies programs and attend college in Sacramento, San Joaquin, Yolo and Butte counties. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic standing, a written essay, community activities and marketing activities through internships or volunteering. The AMASV expects to award one scholarship this spring in the amount of $1,500.
Those interested in applying and needing more information, should contact our VP of Collegiate Relations. Prospective underwriters should contact our VP of Corporate Support.
