The number one way to reap tangible benefits from your AMASV membership is to become actively involved. Whether you are a new member ready to get better acquainted, or a long-time member ready to get more out of the AMASV, we've got a place for you!

Join the Board

VP Seminars
 
Develop three to five, 2-hour Advanced Seminars within the board year.
 
  • Recruit relevant speakers, including review of material prior to presentation to ensure its on target for our audience.
  • Coordinate with VP Corporate Support to secure seminar sponsor (not mandatory).
  • Ensure seminar logistics are in place — table greeters and registration check-in, snacks for our members, and any tools speakers may require as part of their presentation.
  • Coordinate post survey with sponsor, Foss Marketing Group.

Up to five or six hours per month . . .
 
Membership Team — Recruitment
 
  • Maintain and update Master Prospect Database, including updates to address information and addition of new prospects from media, event attendees and personal requests.
  • Scan the Sacramento Business Journal and Sacramento Bee for marketing-related promotions and new hires, collecting mailing information. Send congratulation letters with invitation to join the AMASV.
  • Sort Membership and Prospect Databases and attach variable data. Work with mail house and VP of Membership to ensure accuracy.
  • Call prospects after they've attended their first AMASV meeting. Track event feedback and provide feedback to VP of Membership and Programs.
  • Attend at least 6 events per year and support VP of Membership with networking events.
Programs: CEO-Marketers Forum
 
  • Secure five to six CEO and Marketing professionals for our annual luncheon.
  • Coordinate with moderator and panelists to review content prior to presentation to ensure its on target.
Programs: AMASV fundraiser (silent auction)
 
  • Secure a variety of donated goods for our annual silent auction. Proceeds benefit the chapter and our scholarship program.
Up to four hours per month . . .
 
Membership Team: Database
 
  • Evaluate data and monitor trends for new opportunities.
  • Track potential interests for programming.
  • Update Current Member Database with updates from Exact Target — call members whose contact information needs updating.
  • Update Current Member Database and Prospect List with returned mail and contact members where more information is needed.
  • Maintain and update Master Prospect Database. Includes updating address information and adding new prospects from Media, Event Attendees and Personal Requests.
  • Must be comfortable developing reports. Excel skills required.
Communications Team: The Buzz
 
Produce monthly newsletter handed out to luncheon attendants announcing relevant chapter happenings, including: 
  • Collect announcements from chapter President and/or other Board members.
  • Edit and produce newsletter prior to each luncheon, and coordinate with print vendor, Fruitridge Printing.
  • Ensure print job is picked up and delivered on time before luncheon begins.
  • Access to Adobe InDesign software required.
Communications Team: The Insider
 
Produces bi-monthly e-newsletter, including:
 
  • Collect announcements/stories from chapter President and/or other Board members.
  • Coordinate distribution via Exact Target to members.
Corporate Support Team
 
  • Coordinate with VP Corporate Support to secure chapter, luncheon and seminar sponsors.
Collegiate Relations Team
 
  • Coordinate with VP Collegiate Relations to stay connected with student chapters in our region.
  • Assist in student scholarship process.
Up to one hour per month . . .
 
Membership Table Greeter
 
  • Set up membership table before each event, bringing marketing materials, sample journals, application forms, etc.
  • Coordinate the development/provision of materials with VP-Membership.
  • Assist VP-Membership in greeting attendees and answering membership-related questions as attendees arrive and pick up name badges.
  • Requires someone who regularly attends all events and can arrive early, or to plan in advance for coverage by VP-Membership if unable to attend.
Membership Mailing List Coordinator
 
  • Provide appropriately-sorted member and prospect lists to our mail house and our email provider, once each month.
  • Should be comfortable sorting and editing Excel spreadsheets.
