Be a Speaker

In order to uphold our mission to provide excellent resources for our membership, the AMASV relies heavily upon speakers who share our goal of educating marketers and contributing to the future of marketing as a science, an art, a craft, and a profession.

To that end, we believe in thoroughly interviewing and preparing our speakers to the fullest extent so that your presentation and time with us is a mutually valuable experience.

How Do We Choose Speakers?

Two words: strategically and selectively.

Strategically

• According to our overall Programs strategy for the year, which this year includes a focus on blending local, regional, and national speakers for an optimum mix of expertise.

Selectively

• Experience is the best teacher, and experience has taught us that the best speakers for the AMASV are those who:
• Are as ready to listen as they are to speak;
• Are deep experts in their field, but believe they still have something to learn;
• Don't underestimate the expertise of our members or the professionalism of our business community;
• Come well prepared to speak concisely, and to answer complex questions;
• Share the AMASV commitment to the future of marketing as a science, an art, a craft and a profession.
• Interviews, background information and personal references are required of all speakers, regardless of reputation.

If You Build It, We'll Get Them to Come!

That being said, we do take our commitment to our speakers very seriously, and promote events through a proprietary 5-way process, including publicity, advertising, and promotion. Attendance since July of 2001 has ranged from 65 to 120 per event, with 75 as our average attendance.
